Hey y'all! It's been a minute since I've posted anything. I haven't been posting much on social media either. There's a good reason for that: I got sick. Almost a year ago exactly I started feeling not well. In July I had major, life changing surgery and was diagnosed with cancer. In September I started chemotherapy. I lost all of my hair, and had lots of days of not feeling well, but by December; just in time for the new year; I was done.
Last week I had my first check up since chemo ended. My doctor declared that I am currently cancer free. Afterward, my mom and I cried in the hallway. What else are you supposed to do when you receive news like that? This disease is fickle; it likes to rear its ugly head any chance it gets, but for now, I'm taking the good news and running with it.
Last year was amazing, and terrifying, filled with moments of joy and hope so pure and beautiful you could almost cry, but spattered with days of fear and bleakness that made the future look so uncertain. I know how lucky and loved I am and I am so grateful to be here.
Business slowed down quite a bit while I was recovering and going through chemo, but I am so happy and excited to be back to work photographing homes and projects through the DFW metroplex. I can't wait to come photograph yours!
